僕は毎週、『ライオンのグータッチ』という番組を
見てるのですが、そこでは、
何年もずーっと勝てなかったテニス少年が
プロの方に数ヶ月教わっただけで急激に成長して
大会で優勝できるようになったりしていて。
いかに教え方の違いが成長に影響を与えるか？
というのを、ひしひしと感じます。
教えるのが上手な人に新人の教育を任せれば
それだけ成長も早いわけで、
たとえば会社なら売上の伸びに繋がるのです。
そして、教えられる側にとっても、
出来なかったことが出来るようになるので
「この人と一緒に仕事したい！」と思うわけです。
ですので、
教えるのが上手な人は、頼られる。
では、そんな教え方が上手な人は
どんなことを意識して教えるのか？
もちろん、今から話すことが全てではありませんし、
場面によっても違うはずです。
ですが、そのうえで、
「教える」に関わるだいたいの仕事の場面に
共通することを話そうと思います。
何を教えるにしても共通する
普遍の流れは、この３ステップです。

１.相手のレベルを把握
２.まずは前提知識から埋める
３.必要な前提知識が揃ったら、説明する

前提知識というのは、辞書によると
「何かをする前に知っておく必要のある知識」のことです。
たとえば、バスケットボールを
何にも知らない初心者に教えるとしたら
そもそも「ドリブル」だったり
「ピボット」という単語を知らないかもしれません。
それなのに、
「ドリブルをしていて敵に止められたら、
ピボットをしながら味方に
パス出せるタイミングを作ろう」
なんて言われてもチンプンカンプンなのです。
ですので、
＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝
まずは相手がどのくらい知ってるのか？
という「レベル把握」をする必要があります。
＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝
このステップを経ないと、
「どの単語は伝わって、どの単語は伝わらないか？」
というのが分かりませんから。
逆に、「これはもう説明しなくてもいい」
ということも分かるので、無駄な説明を省いて
相手にとって退屈な時間をカットすることにも繋がります。
その後、

「今から説明することを理解してもらうには
まずはコレについての知識がないと
イメージしにくいだろうな」と思われる
前提知識を埋めるステップに入ります。

先ほどのバスケの例なら、
「これをドリブルと言うんだよ」とか
「これをピボットと言うんだよ」と教えるところから。
相手がその業界の初心者だとしたら、
尚更、ここは丁寧にしていかないといけません。
そして、必要な前提知識を備えてもらったら
それらを使って説明に入るのです。
分かりやすい教え方をする人は、
このステップの流れで教えます。
しっかり前提知識を備えてもらうことによって、
次にまた別のことをやるときにも
こちらとしても教えやすくなるし、
相手にとっても理解しやすくなるのです。
