最近Twitterで話題になってる『人生の勝算』を読んでみました。
そこで、第１章はじまってすぐに出てくるワードに、
「未知より既知」というものがあります。
著者の前田さんが小学生時代にやっていた路上ライブで、
まったく人が立ち止まってくれなかった経験から、
「自分のオリジナル曲を歌うよりも、
すでにみんなが知ってる曲を歌った方が興味持たれるんじゃないか？」
という仮説を立てたそうです。
その仮説を一言で表したのが、未知より既知。
この「未知より既知」というワードだけで
ドンブリ３杯はいけるくらい濃厚な学びがあるので、
今回は、これを「エネルギーコスト」という視点で見てみたいと思います。
僕らは、何をするにもエネルギーを使います。
エネルギーがたくさんあれば
いろんなことが出来るし、
エネルギーがなければ「明日やろう」になります。
それも、何をするのかによって
必要なエネルギーコストはまったく違うんですね。
朝起きて歯を磨くとき、
「よし！歯磨きするぞ！」って気合いいれますか？
いれないですよね。笑
何も考えなくても自然とやるものだと思います。
なので、これは「エネルギーコストが低い」と言えます。
じゃあ「掃除」はどうか？
これは、掃除することを苦に思わない人は
自然とできるかもしれませんが、
そうじゃない人にとっては気合いのいるものです。
つまり、「エネルギーコストが高い」。
この視点から考えてみると・・・

【「未知より既知」のエネルギーコスト】
未知：エネルギーコストが高い
既知：エネルギーコストが低い
＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝
もっと崩した表現にすれば、
新しいことをする：エネルギーコストが高い
知ってることをする：エネルギーコストが低い
で、ここ重要ポイントなんですが、
”人間は余計なエネルギーを使いたがりません”。
この「人間」っていうのは、
僕ら、というよりは本能の部分です。
人間の生物的本能は、
「生きる」ことが最重要事項になってるので、
基本、省エネで動きたがります。
だから、なにか新しいことに挑戦しようとすると、
本能が「いやいや、そんなの止めとけよ」
って囁いてくるんですね。
前田さんの路上ライブの例でいうと、
「まったく知らない誰かのオリジナル曲」を聞いて
その良さを味わおうとするのは、
エネルギーコストが高いこと。
だから、よっぽどエネルギーが有り余ってる状態じゃないと、
わざわざ立ち止まって聞こうとは思いません。
僕もたまに名古屋駅で路上ライブしてる人見かけますが、
知らない曲だと聞く気すら起きずに通り過ぎちゃってます。
ですが、すでに知ってる曲なら、
その曲の世界観に入り込むのに
エネルギーコストは低くすみます。
なので、多少疲れていても
立ち止まってくれる可能性が高くなるんです。
ここから学べることは・・・
人の気を引きたいときは、
エネルギーコストを下げるべし！
未知は、エネルギーコストが高いんです。
今まで興味なかったものに
興味持とうとするのはエネルギーコストが高いんです。
だからこそ、会話では
相手の興味ある話をした方が気を引きやすい。
そうして、まずはエネルギーコストの低いものから
相手との関係を築いていき、この本の言葉を借りると、
相手との間に「絆」をつくっていきます。
この「絆」が生まれると、面白いことが起きます。

絆のチカラによって、
エネルギーコストを下げることができる
＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝
前田さんは、まずはカバー曲からはじめて、
その後、絆をつくれたお客さんには
オリジナル曲を披露していく。
という流れで演奏曲を変えたそうなんですが、
本来、「まったく知らないオリジナル曲」は
エネルギーコストの高いもの。
なぜそれがそれに耳を傾けてもらえるようになったか？
その答えに、「絆」があるんですね。
まだ小学生だった前田さんが、
歌唱力はどう考えてもプロに劣るはずなのに
１回の演奏で１万円いただけたりしたのは、
第１章のタイトルでもある、
”人は絆にお金を払う”
という理由から。
この裏側にあるのが、
「いかにエネルギーコストを下げて、
相手に使わせるエネルギーを減らせるか？」
という視点の重要さなのです。
相手のことを信頼できてない場合、
その人から商品を買うためには
「ホントにこの商品は大丈夫なのかな？」
って考えないといけません。
それってエネルギーコストの高いものです。
つまり、路上ライブで立ち止まってすらもらえないように、
商品の良さが伝わる前に離脱されやすい。
でも、相手のことを信頼できていれば、
「この人の商品なら大丈夫だ！」
って安心できるので、深く考える必要がなくなります。
つまり、エネルギーコストが低くなる。
この視点めちゃくちゃ重要だな〜！って感じました。
『人生の勝算』は、どちらかというとビジネス書なんですが、
この「いかに相手に使わせるエネルギーを減らすか」の視点は、恋愛でも日常の会話でも大事！
さて。
今度は逆に考えてみましょう。
相手に対してのスタンスでは、
「未知より既知」でまずは絆をつくることが大事。
じゃあ、自分が生きてく上でのスタンスはどうか？
「既知より未知」に向かっていける生き方
僕は、これが大事だと思います。
未知とは、新しいことや
今までやったことのないものです。
今まで興味持ってなかったものです。
これらはエネルギーコストが高いものなので、
そこに向かっていくためには、
自分のエネルギーを高めておかないと
「やっぱ止めよう」って、なっちゃいます。
ですが、自分の殻を壊して
どんどん自分を成長させていくためには、
この「未知への挑戦」は絶対に避けて通れません。
ですが、未知に挑戦していって
それが新しく習慣化してしまえば、
間違いなく自分は成長していくんです。
しかも、一度習慣化してしまえば、
僕らが自然に歯磨きできるように、
それをやることへのエネルギーコストは低くなります。
そしたら、また他に回せるエネルギーができます。
すると、また新しいことに挑戦していけて、
それを繰り返した先に
「多動力」に繋がるんです。
あら。
『人生の勝算』読んでたら、
いつのまにか堀江さんの『多動力』に繋がっちゃいました。
堀江さんは健康の大事さを広げる活動にもチカラを入れてますが、
それもエネルギーに関係してくるのかなーと思います。
健康体なら、それだけ活動できるエネルギーが増えます。
そしたら、「既知より未知」の生き方が可能になる。
未知への挑戦に積極的になれる。
どんどん行動していける。
僕も、そうありたいと思います。
相手に興味を持って耳を傾けるには、
たくさんのエネルギーを使います。
だけど、相手に意識を向けるのは
コミュニケーション力にとって大事なこと。
だからこそ、
エネルギーコストの高いことに向かっていけるためにも、
心×身体×技術
＝コミュニケーション力
という信念を忘れずにいきたいと思います。
