今回は「告白する勇気と〜」のシリーズ記事になります。
とある講座で配信するセミナーの内容を考えたり、
それに付随する勉強だったり、収録だったりで
時間が空いてしまいましたが、また更新していきます。
さて、「レッテル」という言葉を聞いたことありますか？
なんとなく耳にしたことがあるかもしれません。
これは社会学で出てくる概念なんですが、
簡単に言うと「君は大人しいよね」と言って
人間性を指摘することを「レッテルを貼る」と言います。
なにか悪さをした子に対して、
「あの子は不良だ」と言ったのなら、
これも悪さをした子にレッテルを貼ることになります。
どうしていきなりレッテルの話をしたかと言うと、
この「レッテル」という概念が
僕らの振る舞いに大きな影響を与えることが分かってるからです。
スタンフォード監獄実験という有名な実験がありまして、
普通の人が肩書きや役割を与えられると
その行動にどんな影響が出るのかを調べた
心理実験が行われました。
看守役と囚人役の２グループに分かれたところ、
看守役を命じられた人達は、だんだんと自ら進んで
囚人役の人達に厳しい罰則を与え始めたのです。
囚人役の人達も、厳しい罰則に人格が歪められ、
禁止されていた暴力が勃発したそうです。
その後、どんどんエスカレートしていったので
実験は中止したのですが、
その実験に参加した人達は、約10年間に渡り
カウンセリングを受けることになったそうな。
もしこれが例外的な事例だとしても、
レッテルが与える影響はかなり大きなものです。
ですので、自分がどんなレッテルを貼られているか？
というのは振る舞いに少なからず影響してるわけですね。
「賢いね」というレッテルを貼られていれば、
人は勉強に励むようになるし、
いろいろと考えるようにもなります。
結果、本当に賢くなっていくのです。
よく、新しく社会人になった男性は
学生時代はモテていた人でも急にモテなくなる。
という話を聞きますが、これもレッテルの影響が大きいです。
どういうことか？
新人は、何も分からないので
仕事できないのは当たり前なのですが、
それ故に、上司や周りから「新人扱い」されます。
ストレートな表現をすると、
「仕事できない扱い」をされるわけです。
すると、学生時代は勢いのあった人でも、
仕事でミスしたりして自分の無力さを痛感することで、
自信がなくなっていってしまうのです。
会社での立場が弱いことで、
振る舞いも弱々しくなります。
だから、新社会人になった途端、
モテなくなるのです。
では、この「レッテル」を
勇気と自信を備える方向に活用するには
どうすればいいのか？
というのが重要ポイントになってくるわけですが、
今話してきた例の逆をするだけです。

「できるキャラ」でいられる場所で戦い、
勝ち癖をつけていく

僕は、学歴はなにも人生に影響はない、
とまでは思いませんが、
学歴が人生を左右するとまでは思いません。
いわゆる「学歴が低い」という状態でも、
日本や世界を舞台に活躍してる人もいますから。
ですが、もしギリギリで学歴の高い学校に入り、
その学校内でいつもビリになるような
点数になってしまうんだとしたら、
そこでついた「負け癖」や「できないキャラレッテル」は
その後の人生にかなり影響を与えると思っています。
何をするにしても、自信があるかどうかは
結果に影響するものですから、
学歴よりもどんなレッテルを貼られるかの方が
影響力が大きいのです。
ただ、たとえ学校ではビリだろうが、
アルバイトや学校外の活動で活躍できたなら、
「できるキャラレッテル」がつくので
プラスの影響を受けることができます。
ですので、学校選びが全てというわけでもないし、
もう学校卒業したからどうしようもない、
というわけでもありません。
もう一度書いておきますが、大事なのは
＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝
「できるキャラ」で居られる場所で戦い、
勝ち癖をつけていくこと
＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝
そういう視点で、”場”を選ぶこと。
レッテルが振る舞いに影響するなら、
それをプラス方向に活用しちゃいましょう。
