昨日は、男４人で暑苦しく焼肉を食べに行ってきました。
真面目な話からふざけた話まで
色んな話をしたわけですが、
意見が真っ二つに割れたものがありました。
今回は、その話題をテーマにしていこうと思います。
今回のテーマは、
◆学生時代のアルバイトは継続？転々？
要するに、
１つの職場で働き続けるのがいいか、
それとも、いろんな職場を経験するのがいいか。
という話です。
どちらにもメリットはあるし、
デメリットもあるので、一概にこっちが正しい！
とは言えませんが、僕の意見を書いていきます。
結論から言わせてもらえば、
→【１つの事を継続した方が良い】
人生単位の長いスパンで考えたら、
圧倒的にこっちの方がプラスになります。
その理由なんですが・・・
「継続は力なり！」
って言葉もある通り、
１つの物事をやり続けることによって
その分野で突き抜けられます！
・・・みたいな浅いことは言いません。
そんなのは周知の事実だと思いますので。
そもそも、
「継続は力なり！」というフレーズだけでは、
本来の意味を表現していません。
語呂は悪くなりますが、
正しく言い直せば・・・
→【（真剣に試行錯誤しながらやる）継続は力なり！】
なんとなくやればいい、ってものではなくて、
真剣に試行錯誤しながらやるからこそ力になるわけです。
真剣に試行錯誤する、をもっとラフな言葉に換えれば、
「自分が輝くために工夫する」です。
もし継続するだけで力になるなら、
毎日のように人とコミュニケーション取っている僕らは、
自動的にコミュニケーション能力が上がってるはずですよね。
ですが、現実はそうでもない。
なにも考えずになんとなく過ごしてたって、
コミュニケーション能力は向上しないわけです。
やはり、そこに「工夫」がなくては力はつきません。
さて、話を戻しましょう。
どうしてアルバイトは１つを継続した方が良いのか？
という話ですが、
ひと言でいうと、
→【最初の頃は見えなかったモノが見えるようになる】
ここでは「見える」と表現しましたが、
「気付く」でもOKです。
たとえば、

アルバイト始めたばかりの時って、
仕事を覚えるのに必死で自分のコトしか考えられません。
周りの様子を見る余裕なんてないと思います。
ですが、ある程度続けていると、
仕事をこなしながら周りを見る余裕が出てきます。
で、
すぐにアルバイトを変える人ってのは、
この段階で辞めます。
「もうここで学ぶものは無くなった。」
と、勝手に勘違いして。
でも実は、本当に身になる学びって、
この段階からなんですよ。
仕事に余裕が出てくると、
・こうした方が、もっとお客さん喜ぶんじゃないか？
・この作業はもっと効率化できそうな気がする
・あの人は、きっと○○しようとしてるんだな。
だから自分はこうしておいてあげよう。
のように、今まで気付かなかったコト、
見えなかったモノが見えるようになってきます。
この段階を「第２ステージ」と名付けましょう。
で、余裕のない状態が「第１ステージ」です。
第１ステージというのは、
その店（業種）特有のスキルが身に付く段階です。
（接客の基本、マニュアル等）
それに対して第２ステージで学べることは、
→【あらゆる仕事に応用できる本質】
・お客さん視点の考え方
・スタッフ同士の調和
・仕事の合理化（少ない力で大きな力を生む、という意味）
・・・etc
どれも、必死こいて仕事を覚えてる時には
考える余裕もないものですよね。
ですが、
これらを体感で学んでおけば、
どんな仕事でも出来るようになるわけです。
「でも、いろんな経験した方が多角的な視点とか
様々なスキルが身に付くんじゃないですか？」
こんな意見もあるかと思います。
僕も賛成です。
その通りだと思います。
ですが、
先に１つの物事で「深い理解」をしてからの方が、
いろんな経験をした時に
吸収できるモノが多いと思いませんか？
最初の方でも言いましたが、
見える世界が変わっているので、
普通の人が気付かないようなことに気付くようになります。
普通は「１を知って１を得る」のですが、
見える世界が変わっている状態だと、
１を知って１０を得たりするわけです。
１つのスポーツをやり続けてる人が、
なぜか他のスポーツの上達も早いのは、
この現象が起きているからです。
ずっと続けている内に、
全てのスポーツに共通する「何か」を
感覚で学んでいるわけですね。
【１つの物事を継続する】
それも、なんとなく続けるのではなくて、
工夫しながら続ける。
今回はアルバイトを例に使いましたが、
なんにでも当てはまります。
バスケでも釣りでもゴルフでも将棋でも、
工夫しながら続けていれば見える世界が変わるのです。
そして、見ている世界が周りと違えば、
発言に深みが出てきます。
それが、「魅力」に直結するのです。
