『ファスト&スロー 』という本に
人間の直感についてこんなことが書いてありました。

危険の「第六感」が働く消防士たちは、
自分自身が出動しなかった様々な火事について
仲間と話したり考えたりする機会が何度もあったに違いない。
その結果、どんなことに注意しどう反応したらいいか、
頭の中で予行演習をすることができる。
＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝
ここから分かるのは、
「想像力は創造力である」ということ。
もう少し別の言い方をすれば、
「人は、想像できることしか生み出せない」。
どんなことにしても
経験者と初心者の「直感」には大きな差がありますが、
この直感の正体は、想像力なのです。
最近、『３月のライオン』という
将棋アニメを見ていましたが、
将棋棋士は、相手が一手打つたびに
何十、何百通り先までのパターンが頭に浮かぶそうです。
これは、天才だから想像できるわけではなく、
これまでにあらゆるパターンの攻めを経験したり、
自分でもあらゆるパターンの攻めを考えたりしたからこそ
見えるようになってるわけです。
僕はバスケを９年間やっていましたが、
バスケのシュートに関しては、どういう軌道で
ボールが飛んでいけばあのネットを潜るのか？
というパターンをいくつも見えているのが
経験者と初心者の明らかな違いだと思います。
「こういう軌道でボールを飛ばせば入る」
というルートが予め見えていて、
そこに合わせるようにシュートを打つ感じなんですね。
だからこそ、
打った瞬間に理想とのズレが見えるので
入るのか外すのかが直感で分かります。
（その直感は高確率で当たる）
そして、そのルートは普段の練習での「体験」や
他選手のプレーによる「知識」で増えていきます。
すると、今までよりもより広い範囲から
シュートを決められるようになる。
これが、「経験値」と呼ばれるものなのです。

経験値とは、想像力
＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝
咄嗟に相手をかわす、というアドリブ力は、
「相手がこうしてきたら、自分はこうする」
というような想像をどれだけしてきたかどうかで鍛えられます。
「身体が勝手に動いて相手をかわした」
という言葉をスポーツの世界ではよく聞きますが、
これは反射神経というよりも、想像の賜物なんですね。
日常会話で「咄嗟に面白いことを言う」にしても、
１日の終わりに「今日のあの場面では
こういうことを言ったら面白かったかもな」
という想像を繰り返すことによって鍛えられるわけです。
もしくは、テレビや動画を見て
「こういう場面では、こんなことを言うと面白いのか」
という知識を得ることによっても鍛えられます。

一旦まとめますと、
スポーツ、コミュニケーション、仕事、
あらゆる場面でのレベルアップを担う想像力は、
１.体験
２.思考
３.知識
この３つによって鍛えられるわけですね。

さらに僕の個人的な感覚では、
「体験＞思考＞知識」の順に
想像力への影響度は大きいと思います。
ですので、「試行錯誤が大事だ」と
説教してくるビジネス書を読むよりも、
「どうやったらボスに勝てるのか？」を
真剣に考えるゲームの方が身に染み込むのです。
相手が今、どんな感情でいるのか？
という想像力を鍛えるのなら、
「目が細めのときは〇〇な感情で〜」と
書いてある本よりも漫画や小説などの物語に
大量に触れた方が身になるのです。
そうして、想像できるパターンが広がり
より多面的に物事を見れるようになって、
直感の精度も上がっていく。
