キリコ：ゴリの妹。ゴキブリ界のマドンナ。
ブリオ：誰よりも足が速いが、お調子者。
＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝＝
城の倉庫の中、しばらく大人しくしていた
３匹のゴキブリたちが動き出そうとしていた。
ブリオ「なあゴリー。俺そろそろ喉乾いてきたよ。
もう１週間はまともに水飲んでないし、
さすがにキツくなってきたって。」
お調子者のブリオは、
ため息をつきながらそう言った。
ゴリ「分かってる。いくら俺たちでも、
水を飲まないのはマズイし食料も確保したい。
そろそろ本格的に動くか。」
ブリオ「やったね！そうと決まったら
早く行こうぜ！なあ、キリコ！」
すぐ近くにいたキリコは、
触覚の掃除の手を止めて答える。
キリコ「ええ、私も喉乾いてきたわ。」
３匹がお互いに顔を合わせ、
「水と食料奪還作戦」の作戦会議が始まる。
このときはまだ、あんな悲劇が起こるとは
誰も予想していなかった・・・。
ブリオ「で、水と食料はどこに取りに行く？
俺、そこらに落ちてるホコリ食べるのは
さすがにもう飽きてきたぜ。」
ゴリ「ああ、俺たちならまだしも
キリコは女の子だ。羽の黒ツヤが衰えては
お嫁に行けなくなっちまう。
いいものを食べさせてやりたいな。」
ブリオ「ってことは、あそこしかないよな！
王妃の部屋！うひょー！！１年ぶりのごちそうだ！！」
ゴリ「ああ、あそこなら水もあるし、
栄養たっぷりな食料のカスが床に落ちてるだろう。
幸い、ここからそう遠くはない。」
羽をパタパタさせて浮かれるブリオを横目に、
キリコも作戦会議に加わる。
キリコ「確かこの倉庫から出て、
目の前の階段を上った少し先だったよね？」
ブリオ「そうそう！ただ難関が２つあるんだよなー。
王妃部屋の前に立ってる警備兵がすっげー邪魔だ。
それに、王妃部屋に入ってからも
基本的にずっと王妃がいるから厄介なんだよな。」
ブリオ「まったく！この話の作者は
なんで警備兵がいる設定なんかにしたんだよ！」
キリコ「・・・？ブリオ何言ってるの？」
ゴリ「・・・俺にいい考えがある。」
数分後。
３匹は、王妃部屋のお風呂へと続く
排水管を進んでいた。
カサカサカサ。
ブリオ「ゴリもゴキブリが悪いぜ！
こんな隠し通路あるんなら、
もっと早く教えてくれればいいのに！」
ゴリ「いや、つい最近見つけたばかりなんだ。
王妃の部屋はごちそう部屋だからな。
どうにかして安全に行けないかと
毎日深夜にいろいろ探索していたんだ。」
キリコ「もう！そんな危ないことして！
人間に見つかってたらどうするの！
でも、さすがお兄ちゃんね！」
ゴリ「しっ。静かに。着いたぞ。
ちょっと待ってろ。」
ゴリは排水管から少しだけ顔を出し、
辺りを見渡した。
ブリオ「どうだー？誰かいるかー？」
ゴリ「うるさい！どうやら誰もいないようだ。」
先に出て安全確認したゴリの合図で、
ブリオとキリコも出てくる。
ブリオ「とりあえず！水！飲ませろー！！」
そう言って、風呂場の隅に溜まっていた水に
猛ダッシュで向かうブリオ。
ゴリ「こらブリオ！ちょ、待てよ！」
ブリオ「かー！うめー！生き返るぜー！
お前らも早く来いよー！」
ゴリとキリコは目を見合わせ、
「やれやれ」と言いながら
ブリオのところで水を飲むことにした。
喉を潤した３匹は、
次は食料を手に入れるために動き出した。
〜王妃の寝室〜
ゴリ「よし、ここなら安全だ。
あのベッドの横にフルーツ盛りが見えるだろう？
あそこへ辿り着くための作戦を立てよう。」
３匹は、本棚の下に身を潜ませていた。
ゴリ「いいか、その前に改めて確認だ。
絶対に王妃には見つかってはいけないぞ。
王妃に見つかったが最後、すぐに兵士を呼ばれ
俺たちは３分と経たず殺されてしまうだろう。
生きて帰ることが最優先だ。」
ブリオ「・・・なあ、キリコ。
俺、時々考えるんだけどさ。」
キリコ「ん？何ブリオ？」
ブリオ「俺たちゴキブリって嫌われものじゃん？
人間に見つかれば悲鳴あげられて、
鬼のような顔で殺すまで追ってくる。
一度見つかれば、奴らは家具をどかしてまで
俺たちを殺そうとしてくる。
そうやって踏み潰された仲間を何回も・・・何十回も見てきた。
俺たちだって、好きでこんな姿に
生まれたわけじゃないのに。
でも・・・どうしようもなく嫌われる。
そんな扱いされてずっと生きてきたから、
俺たちって何のために生きてるんだろう？
って、時々考えちまうんだ。
こんなに嫌われるくらいなら、
いっそ絶滅してこの世から
消えた方がいいんじゃないか？って思っちまうんだ。」
キリコ「ブリオ・・・。
確かに、私たちは嫌われものね。
この城に住んでる私たちは、
人間にとっては邪魔としか感じてないと思う。
でもね、それはほんの一部で見た場合のこと。
もっと視野を広げて、”自然界”で考えてみて。
もし私たちゴキブリが絶滅すれば、
私たちを餌にしてる虫や小動物が
食料不足になって困ることになるの。
そしたら、今度は小動物の数が減って、
その小動物を餌にしてる動物が食料不足で困ることになる。
それは巡り巡って、彼ら人間にとっても
困ることになるの。
言い換えれば、私たちはただ生きてるだけでも
自然界に貢献してるってことなんだよ。
私たちがいるから、地球に生命が溢れて
豊かになっていくの。」
ゴリ「おい、話は終わったか？
ブリオらしくないこと言ってないで、
あそこ見てみろ。」
ブリオ「うるせー！
俺だっていろいろ考えてんだよ。
・・・どれどれ？」
ゴリの視線の先には、
鏡に向かって話しかけている王妃がいた。
王妃「鏡よ、鏡よ、鏡さん。
世界でいっちばん美しいのは誰だい？」
鏡「この城ではあなたが一番美しいです。
でも、白雪姫はもっと美しい。」
王妃「なに？！あの小娘まだ生きてたのか！！
許さない！私が直接行ってやる！！」」
眉間にしわを寄せ、
顔中の筋肉をピクピクさせながら
王妃はいそいそと着替え出した。
キリコ「なんか、すごく怒ってるみたいね。」
ゴリ「ああ、しかしこれはチャンスかもしれん。
どうやら着替えてどこかに出掛けるみたいだ。」
ブリオ「俺たち運良いぜ！
あいつどっか行くまで待ってようぜ！」
そう言っている内に、
物売りの格好に着替えた王妃は
ドカドカと力強く足を踏み鳴らしながら部屋を出て行った。
扉の前にいた兵士「あ、王妃様どこへ？！」
王妃「うるさいッ！夜までには戻る！！」
そうして、３匹が潜む部屋には誰もいなくなった。
ブリオ「キタキタキタキタ！
これ以上のビッグチャンスないぜ！今の内に行こう！」
ゴリ「待てブリオ。そう焦るな。
もしかしたらネズミがいるかもしれない。
俺が先に行って安全かどうか確認してくる。
お前らは俺が合図したら来てくれ。」
ブリオ「ちぇっ、分かったよ！
先にごちそう食べたら怒るからな！」
ゴリ「そんなことするわけないだろ。
キリコも少し待っていてくれ。」
キリコ「うん、分かったお兄ちゃん。」
ゴリはなるべく早く、そして静かに
赤や緑や黄色で鮮やかに彩られた
ベッドの横にあるフルーツ盛りのお皿に向かって走っていった。
ゴリ「よし、もうすぐだ。」
・・・それは、一瞬だった。
ゴリは何が起きたのか分からなかった。
フルーツ盛りに向かって走っていたはずが、
何故か天井を見上げている。
グチャッ！
何かが潰れるような音がした。
ゴリ「・・・ッッッ！！？？」
瞬間、ゴリのお腹に耐えがたい激痛が走る。
・・・内臓が飛び出て、グチャグチャに潰されていた。
ゴリは朦朧とした意識の中、
すぐ近くにいる存在に気付いた。
視線をその”謎の存在”に向けた。
ニャー。
そこに立っていたのは、猫だった。
雪のように白い毛に覆われ、
ルビーのように赤い瞳をもった猫だった。
ゴリ「馬鹿・・・な。猫なんて・・・
前来たときは・・・いなかった、はず。」
その頃、少し離れた本棚の下では、
そのあまりに一瞬の出来事に、
ブリオとキリコは愕然としていた。
２匹とも、足がガクガク震えていた。
奴は、突然現れた。
ゴリがベッドの横を通ろうとしたとき、
ベッドの下から突然飛び出してきた。
・・・一瞬だった。
初撃の猫ジャブの衝撃でゴリはひっくり返り、
その後、間髪入れずに放たれた
猫ストレートによりゴリの内臓は潰されたのだ。
わけが分からず頭が真っ白になっていたブリオを
我に返らせたのは、ゴリの叫び声だった。
ゴリ「お前ら！俺のことはいいから逃げろーー！！！」
キリコ「そんな！嫌だよ！！
いなくなっちゃ嫌だよ！！お兄ちゃん！！！」
白猫は、さらにゴリに歩み寄る。
ゴリは激痛に耐えながら声を振り絞った。
ゴリ「ブリオーーーッ！！よく聞け！！！
今この白猫は俺に気を取られてる！！
今ならこいつに見つからずに部屋から脱出できるはずだ！！
だが、俺に飽きてこいつの意識が外に向いてしまえば、
お前らまで脱出できなくなる！！
今しかないんだ！！！
俺はもうダメだ！！動けない！！
あんな露骨に死亡フラグまで立てたんだからな！！
だから・・・せめてお前らだけでも逃げろッッ！！！」
ブリオ「そんな！！ゴリッッ！！！」
ゴリ「めそめそしてんじゃねえ！！！
俺は知ってたぞ。お前、
キリコのこと好きなんだろ！！？？
だったら・・・誰がキリコを守るんだよ！！！」
ブリオ「・・・くっ。
行くぞ！！キリコッッ！！！」
キリコ「えっ？！お兄ちゃんッッ！！」
ブリオは、キリコの手を引いて走り出した。
ゴリ「そうだ・・・。それでいい。
ありがとな、ブリオ。キリコを頼むぞ・・・。」
グシャッ！
後方で、最後の一撃の音がした。
ブリオ「くそくそくそくそ！！
許さねえ！絶対に許さねえぞあの猫！！
いつか、修行してもっと強くなって駆逐してやる！！！」
憎悪に燃えたブリオとキリコは、
排水管へと走り去っていった。
〜ちょうどすれ違いの王妃部屋にて〜
ガチャッ。
王妃「あらミケ、ゴキブリがいたのかい？」
ミケ「ニャ〜。」
〜END〜
次回！憎悪に燃えたブリオは、
倉庫で見つけた怪しい薬を飲み覚醒！
テラフォーマーとなったブリオは、
正面突破で王妃部屋へと乗り込む！
その圧倒的なパワーでミケをねじ伏せるのか？！
ゴリの仇は取れるのか？！
ピンチになったミケは赤い瞳が輝き出す？！
